Loading Firewood

Well, over the last few weeks I have thought of SO MANY topics to write about for the blog.  But being the holiday season, it’s just too crazy.  So while my parents are out running errands, and Ethan is asleep, I thought I’d quickly mention what we did yesterday.  This is something that PROBABLY only my parents and brother will really appreciate, but here goes…

Yesterday after lunching with a friend (Ruth Honeycutt), and meeting Mandy White at the Zoo, we went to get a "rick" of wood.  "We" is Marvin, Vannah, Catherine and Ethan.  And FYI: a rick of firewood is apperently the term for half a cord; dimensions being 2′ x 4′ x 8′.

So anyway, I had called around town for prices, etc. and found this place.  The wood was all cut and  neatly stacked in the "ricker", as the girl who helped us called it.  All we had to do was pay her, throw it into the bed of the truck and take off!  I brilliantly forgot to bring any gloves, but we made do.  At one point I said to Mom and Dad, "Well, this is not nearly as exciting as going all the way up into the mountains so Dad can cut the wood himself.  And not as exciting as Dad cutting into a nest of yellow jackets and getting stung multiple times.  And not as exciting as Steven getting bitten in the side by the owner’s Doberman.  But it does bring back good memories." They just chuckled, agreed, and kept loading.  In a way though, it was very nostalgic for meemoticon.  It’s funny the things that will take you back to another time and place.

SO Excited!!

Well, I am excited!!! The Tim Pigg family finally has a blog!emoticon  Big thanks to "The Brother" (my brother, Steven Martin — check out his blog, there should be a link to your left.)  His blog is way more sophisticated than this one, but it helps to be a web designer/nerd.  Of course, it helps ME a lot to be related to a web designer/nerd.  emoticon    If you have any business you want to throw his way in the web design arena, check out the business site:  www.floatingpointmedia.com    I’m not sure, but I think you can access that one at the bottom of our page where it says"design and hosting by……" Okay, enough commercials.          And thanks too for the fun emoticons I’m always asking about, Homer!  I’m very excited.  Tim is going to like this too when he gets home from work.  Now we just have to get "flickr" and we’ll have pictures to share with the world!

Isn’t the internet grand!?  Thanks… um… Al Gore!  emoticon
